Optically Active Nanomaterials for Bioimaging and Targeted Therapy

Being able to track therapeutic agents inside the body without surgery is one of the most useful techniques in nanomedicine. Scientists have created many kinds of nanoprobes that can help image tissues and treat diseases such as inflammation, heart disease, and cancer.

In this review, we look at the latest progress in developing light-responsive nanomaterials—both organic and inorganic—that can be used for multimodal imaging (using more than one imaging method) and targeted therapy.

We focus on how these nanoprobes are made, how they work, and how they are used for diagnosis and treatment. These nanomedicine approaches help researchers better understand the biological processes behind different diseases. This leads to more accurate diagnosis, improved evaluation of disease severity, better treatment outcomes, and faster drug discovery.
