Nanomedicine: Treatment of Chronic Disease Using Gold Nano Thermo Robot (GNTR) Empowered With Nanotechnology Approaches

Nanotechnologists and medical researchers are working to develop advanced nanorobots to improve healthcare and change how we treat diseases. One exciting idea in this area is using nanomedicine—tiny machines or particles that work inside the body to fight disease.

This research introduces a new model called the Gold Nano Thermo Robot (GNTR). It’s a type of nanomedicine designed to treat cancer by applying controlled heat directly to tumors without harming the healthy tissue around them.

Key Features of the GNTR System:

  • It includes a network of nano-sensors and connects through an interbody communication system and the Internet of Nanomedical Things (IoNT).
  • This system can monitor and control heat therapy in real-time, using a method called “SEE and TREAT”, targeting and destroying breast cancer cells.
  • The heat is generated by a laser pulse, which causes a Coulomb explosion—a burst of energy that creates waves of heat (hyperthermia) inside the body.

To manage this heat safely and precisely:

  • A Heat Control System was designed using the Finite Difference Method, which helps regulate and shape the heat waves into a safe and effective form.

Study Highlights:

  • Researchers studied how the size of the GNTR affects its ability to reach tumors at different depths.
  • They also tested different combinations of temperature and treatment time to find the most effective way to destroy tumors with the least harm to healthy tissue.

Best Results:

  • The best outcome was achieved when the heat was set to 42°C for 30 minutes, which almost completely destroyed the tumor while keeping healthy tissues safe.
